Further proof (like we needed further proof) that everything is more dramatic in slow motion. Legendary British actor Alan Rickman making tea, for example.

... and it's about hockey.
And I'm not a hockey player, but I am Canadian and even though I've never officially played the game, the game is somehow wrapped up in our national identity. I respect Budweiser for not over beer-ifying the commercial; instead, their brand piggybacks on the emotion - real emotion from some real guys playing ...well, beer league hockey.

1000 Frames. PER SECOND.

Proof that just about everything is better slowed down with music. But the Phantom camera shoots at 1000 frames per second ... I used to be pretty happy with 60 fps and then fake it with a Twixtor plugin.
I'm ruined.
I'm ruined.

Star Wars - re-created by fans, 15-seconds at a time.
Each 15-second segment was produced by a different group of filmmakers using their own equipment, and the result is a classic story retold by its fans, for its fans. You can feel the love.

This American Life : Middle School

This is - as far as I know, in the vast storied history of the Dumpster blog - is the first time I've posted an audio link.
A year and a half ago, the antenna in my car broke. Coincidentally, it was after I took it in to be serviced and it was up on the hoist. But it was a bit of a blessing in disguise - I now play podcasts more than the radio in my car. I prefer the on-demand movement anyhow; isn't this blog proof?
One of my new (to me .. I'm slow) favourites is This American Life.
At the risk of alienating my countrymen and forsaking the Mother Corp - I think I like it even better than The Vinyl Café (although my Ira Glass impersonation isn't as well rehearsed as my Stuart McLean impersonation).
And I'm a middle-school teacher. So this podcast appealed to me. I hope you chuckle and relate as well as I did.
